About me

I've joined up because I love beading and making jewellery - the design aspects and the craftsmanship. My background is in textile design and ever since I was a kid I've enjoyed crafting. I work full time in teaching. Over the years I've had a go at many many crafts, particularly textile based ones. I bought my first sewing machine out of my earnings from my first Saturday job and have sewn ever since. I enjoy interior design as well.

Interests

Colour is so important to me - I love beading as I can combine colours and textures and proportions. And there is nothing as satisfying as producing something you have made yourself! Recenty I took a years evening class in silversmithing, but making items from beads is my preferred way to be creative.

Crafts I have tried include ... papermaking, knitting, tatting, making books, hats, making bags, table decorations for weddings, embroidery (both hand and machine), and a teeny bit of papercrafts. I've also tried PMC (precious metal clay) and making lampworked glass beads.
