Got a great wee set of stamps from Personal Impressions Keep Calm and......

eat cake, keep crafting, run away, drink wine, bake cakes, drink tea, eat chocolate, ....you choose!!!!
Here is my first attempt with them.

Haven't been on here for a while due to working too hard :(  but needs must. 2012 resolution is to get more crafting time this year and maybe take up patchwork quilting, and get fit of course :D
Speaking of New Year, I also had some fun making this little calendar, based on a stepper card design.

A little late but just wanted to say..........Happy New Year!

New techniques and falling in love again!!

Posted on: 08/04/2010 11:31:54 Quarantine this entry

Time for tea and lace!

I think I have fallen in love again......with lace!

I popped in to my local craft shop yesterday and bought a yard of 1 1/2" creamy lace. I have been a busy little bee in my craft room. I also tried out breyering for the very first time yesterday, and used the results as backing paper along with the lace and breyered a little flower to match.

I found an old Susan Branch stamp of a  teapot which I embossed silver. (Not embossed in a long time either). Quite pleased with the finished card.

Ahhh lace. I had forgotten how much I loved you :D

Love the lace and the teapot makes a great card. I got a brayer last year but I'm not very good at it at all. Love watching Barbara Grey on create and craft she makes it look so easy. Not had much time for crafting this week as my grandaughters (9 and 15) have been here every day from 5:30am till 5pm and by the time they have gone I am to tired to craft. Got some more promarkers today so am just going to play colouring in till it's time for Greys Annatomy. Anne xx

Easter bunnies and Dust bunnies :p

Posted on: 02/04/2010 15:41:20 Quarantine this entry

I have been out working full time for the past couple of weeks and have had very little time to get on with my crafting or dare I speak its name....the dreaded H word... (whisper..housework - eek!) So yesterday I was off for the first time in ages it seems and although the pull of my craft room was strong, I was very good and did not go near, instead I tackled the housework.

Boy was the place a mess! Talk about dust bunnies!! They were everywhere, I swear they were having babies as I worked, took me all day to do the hallway, toilet and den room! Unbelievable.

I promised myself I would finish the rest of the house today, but guess what happened this morning as i got up early to complete the tasks i planned?  Yep that's right, the little voice I ignored all day yesterday, whispered seductively in my ear.......one teenyweeny witto easter card won't hurt...will it?.........then you can finish cleaning and tidying the house.

Then the post arrived bringing my scrummy prize from Jo when I won the Gorjuss girl Challenge a few weeks ago. Embossed frames, Gorjuss girl images , ribbons and flower embellishments to play with. Lucky, lucky me!

Hours later, here I am, and the house still sadly neglected...........ah well.......What's a public holiday for if not to enjoy!

Happy Easter  xx

Stampin Up evening and Gorgeous Girls

Stampin Up projects

more Stampin Up

another SU!

Saturday night , I was out at the Stampin Up event in Glasgow. I really enjoyed it, and learned a few new techniques too. The products are top quality, and included some really clever tools which i did not know existed!

They had tiny glue pens, which worked a treat for sticking weeny footery things like flower stems, and whatever type of glue it is (comes out kinda blue - then dries clear) it didn't stick everywhere else and make a mess as usually happens to me. I am defo getting one (or two) of those. The stampmejig and "foil" (for aligning stamps) was pretty amazing too, I could use that handy little number.

Loved the sticky tape roller - a luxury item i think - could be tempted! Also new to me was a "stitching template" with a sharp pointy tool which was fun to use. I made 3 little projects to take home, and am now perusing the catalogue to decide what to order.

This morning I woke up to a lovely bunch of flowers and card and mini cake from my own two "gorjuss girls" for Mother's Day :) Then they proceeded to make me breakfast in bed - scrambled eggs and toast, orange juice and coffee. Ahhh, this is the life.

When I looked on the docrafts website (laptop in bed - think i might stay here all day!) I had a fantastic surprise to discover that I won the Gorjuss Girls Challenge! I feel so proud and pleased.

Hope all you Mums out there have a great day and are thoroughly spoiled. If not, or if they forget, then just go out there and treat yourself to a little crafty treat or two - you know you deserve it!

Cheers x

Sounds like you had a lot of fun, I have seen the stampinup catalogue but it all looks rather expensive. I'm saving like mad for the Edinburgh Corn Exchange 1st week in June. Just have to stop breaking into it and spending at the Papermill shop. lol! Anne xx

This must be illegal!

Tulips

I am getting so much pleasure out of my card making, that I fear it may be illegal!!

Honestly though, I am becoming so addicted to it.....I find myself making excuses to get out of other things just to escape to my little room where I have all my  stash and sit and create!!! If the phone rings and interrupts me....I get soooo annoyed and frustrated! (Am very two faced tho, and don't let the person know that I am wishing them off the line quickly!)

Visited the SECC exhibition in Glasgow on Friday and bought Martha Stewart punches (two for £23) and also a roller stamp and some lovely sentiments from Wild Rose Studio.

I also got myself an invite for next weekend to a "Stampin Up" event in Glasgow. I really love some of their products, although they do look a wee bit pricey.

On Saturday, my prize for winning Clare's Challenge arrived, some lovely card blanks and toppers from Forever Friends, which I promptly used to make a quick 18th b'day card for my friend's daughter.

Here's to another week of blissful crafting. Cheers!

PS Thought you might like to share my tulips x

About me

I have recently returned to card making after about six years, and feel like a child in a sweetie shop with all the new products and goodies available! It is exciting to use new methods alongside old trusted friends, like my original Sizzix machine and dies, and collection of papers and stamps which I am rediscovering daily!

I enjoy making cards for friends and family, and am thinking about selling, but not sure yet if i want to go down that road. I may just prefer to enjoy my hobby without the time and fun constraints that commercial venture often brings!

I enjoy reading, and belong to a local girly bookgroup. I also am partial to a glass or two of wine and entertaining and enjoying my life family and friends to the max.
