Hi I know how you feel I lost both my parents a few years back one on the 17th dec and the other on 17th of jan . So christmas was hard the first couple of years but I know they would hate it if I felt miserable so I think of all the great christmases spent with them and have a good one in thier memory. It will get easier in time, hope you can try to have agood christmas in your parents memory they would want you to all the best mary x

Hate this time of year

As Christmas draws near, everyone getting in the festive spirit,  I just hate it !!!!
(After losing both my parents in such a sort spell of time) Having spent every Christmas with my parents, it is so difficult without them.  Christmas just don't seem the same  - we either went up to them or last going off they came down to us,  nothing really special but looking back that was such special time,  although we never realise or appreicate things until we have lost them.
So just looking forward   spending a few days at home, as we spend our first Christmas  Mr & Mrs .

Sorry for your loss Mel. I do hope you can experience some joy over the festive period. I can empathise with you I hate this time of year for the same reason as you but just another half dozen family members who won't be with us. Happens more and more as you get older. Just try to remember your parents wouldn't want you to be so sad but to enjoy life whatever it brings. Take care, anne x
