Community Craft Talk
What is Craft Talk?
Craft Talk is home to the docrafts forums where you can chat with like minded crafters about your hobbies, experiences, share top tips and ask questions. You need to be a logged in member to participate on the forums.
How do I use Craft Talk?
Hover over the COMMUNITY tab and click CRAFT TALK to find the home of the docrafts forums. You can view the forums without logging in, but if you wish to participate, you need to be logged in.
How do I navigate Craft Talk?
You can navigate Craft Talk using the ‘breadcrumbs’ which are situated at the top of the forums. These could look like this…. Docrafts >> Forum >> Card Making Select a forum you wish to view and click the title to enter.
What order are the topics displayed in?
All the topics will be displayed in date order, the most recent at the top.
Click on the desired topic title to view all the associated posts. The member who started the topic has their post displayed first; replies to the post are in date order, the most recent showing last.
How do I reply to a topic?
To start a new topic, click into the forum of your choice and click the ‘New Topic’ button.
Please ensure that you select a forum which is relevant to your posting, for example, if you wish to ask a question about card making, select the card making forum. Your message maybe moved to the correct forum by the moderators if necessary.
From each post you can…
- Click on a member’s name or photo to view their profile
- Send a PM (private message) to the member via the site
- Send an email to the member
- Opt to hide all the member’s posts
- Report the post if you find it has unsuitable content
- Reply to the post quoting the post content in your reply (click the ‘Quote’ button).
Can I subscribe to a topic?
Yes, you will find an ‘Options’ link on the first posting in each topic. You can opt to ‘watch’ the topic. Docrafts will send you notification emails to alert to you activity on that topic. If you wish to unsubscribe, click the same ‘Options’ link and select ‘Unwatch this topic’.
Can I edit my message?
Yes, if you created the post, you will see an ‘Edit’ button appear which you can click. Make your changes then click ‘Post’.
Can I delete my posts?
Yes, if you created the post, you will see a ‘Delete’ button appear.
How do I upload my photo?
Visit the ‘MY PROFILE’ tab and click the ‘Info’ tab on your profile to upload a profile photo. This will be used when you post on Craft Talk, upload a project, top tip and on your profile.
I am unhappy about another member’s posting
Simply click either the ‘Report posting as abusive’ or ‘Report as spam’ links which you will find at the bottom of each post. The docrafts moderators will consider each report carefully before taking the appropriate action, if necessarily remove the message. docrafts.co.uk does not moderate Craft Talk. docrafts.co.uk can only be contacted during office hours Monday to Friday.

Craft Talk is... A way for people who enjoy crafts to share and trade ideas. A way for crafters to keep in touch. Craft Talk is not... A place to advertise your services or products. To upset and offend other users. It is up to you... To reveal your identity. docrafts.co.uk does not reveal your identity in message board postings, we protect your identity (Joan of Dorset). If you put your contact details in a posting this is your decision. To post a message. If you do not want to hear other people views on a subject you should not post your views on the subject. To decide whether to visit sites referred to on Craft Talk. External sites are not checked by 'do crafts' and you visit them at your own risk. To maintain proper internet security measures. You should have installed appropriate anti-virus products and they should be up to date, particularly before visiting website that you are not sure about.
