New cameo moulds to play with and other things

Posted on: 04/03/2012 07:56:14 Quarantine this entry

I'm writing this at 7.50 on a very Sunday morning. My OH got up at 6.30 to play golf and I just couldn't get back to sleep as my head was full of crafty thoughts! I'm trying to add to my range of stock so I find that new ideas pop into my head at all times of the day ( even during a numeracy lesson!).

What a busy time it's been lately! I attended a ladies shopping night on Friday 2nd March and was pleased with how my new stock was received.  Lots of people commented on my rag wreaths and I sold one, which was good.  I think that if I hadn't sold one I probably wouldn't have made anymore.  I have just received some silicone cameo moulds to use with poly clay and can't wait to give them a go.  I think it might be a bit tricky at first but I love a challenge.  I will post any piccies once I'm happy with the results!

I am desperate to start crafting but I have to walk the dog (in the rain) and do some much needed ironing first :((  The trouble is, I have soooo much that I want to try that I just don't know what to do.  I think I will give the cameo moulds ago later.

Well best go and get my waterproofs on !!

Happy crafting

Max x

New Year makes

Posted on: 02/01/2012 20:41:55 Quarantine this entry
Had a quite Christmas with the family and have been able to do some making as
we had 2 weeks off school.  I have been very naughty lately and spent quite alot on my
crafty stash.  I've bought some lovely distress inks and I have been experimenting with them.  I have added some cards to my gallery.  I think I am going to add cards to my stock so that I can sell a few at fairs, it might help to pay for my bits and bobs!!

Keep crafting

New Debbi Moore cd's , yeah!!!

Posted on: 09/12/2011 21:20:03 Quarantine this entry
I'm eagerly waiting for postie as I have ordered the pick of the week on create and craft.  It was 4 Debbi Moore cds called Garden Fairies.  I have a few of her cds and think that they are lovely. I used to turn my nose up at cd crafting but since getting my first cd about 18months ago I now use them for lots of my cards.  I still like to make from scratch but it's good to have them there if you need them.

I have spent looooaaadds lately ( don't tell my husband).  New distress inks, blender and pads, micas, embossing powders and the Debbi Moore cds and lots of polymer clay for my jewellery.  I have told my self that enough is enough and now I need to make lots of cards and jewellery so that I can sell them in the spring when the craft fairs do the rounds.

I can't wait for school to finish next week so that I can get crafting all day, after doing the housework of course!!  I have soooo many ideas for my jewellery and cards aswell as my idea for a childrens book.  I'm definitely going to be busy.  Oh, and I need to do my accounts,  BORING! but necessary unfortunately.

Happy Christmas everyone and happy crafting

Getting my mojo back

Posted on: 27/10/2011 16:11:46 Quarantine this entry

Well it has been a very busy few months. I recently changed my job to working 30 hours a week ( from 16hours). This proved to be too much as I found myself away from the house for 40 hours a week as I  was travelling to the new school.  I haven't crafted for over 2 months as I was soooo tired and just couldn't find the time.  My jewellery business went by the way as well :( . So I found out that there was a job going at my old school for 16 hours so..... back I go .....but now I have time to craft and have resurected my jewellery business, although I have missed this years Xmas fairs.
I have made some things in the last week and I feel soooo much better for it.  I had a commission for 5 bookmarks which I have put on the gallery.  I also made a necklace and bracelet using steampunk charms.  This was an experiment so I will be keeping it for myself!!! I think I am finally getting my mojo back..yay!!!

Been playing with my new stamps :)

Posted on: 29/07/2011 09:18:26 Quarantine this entry

Hi all,

Had a very busy week with visitors, getting ready for our hols on Saturday and crafting of course !  I have been playing with my new Lavinia stamps and had ordered more as I love them sooooo much.  I found some shimmer paints (that I bought ages ago) in my stash so used them to paint some backgrounds ( inspired by the Lavinia stamps gallery)then stamped some images. I haven't had time to make them into cards yet but I've added some pics to my gallery.  I've packed some cards/paints/stamps in my "things to do on holiday bag" so if I get a minute or two I can do some on hols (we are off to Cornwall on Sat).
Have a great crafty week everyone.

Now back from hols and finally caught up on the washing!! Managed to do some more background painting on hols. My new stamps came whilst I was away so when I got back I played around with them. I was looking on You Tube for shimmer paints and found someone who said that if you add iridescent watercolour medium to watercolour paints you can make your own shimmer paints. So... I went to my nearest art supplier and bought some. It really works and at £5.65 a bottle it's much cheaper than buying cosmic shimmer paints and the results are really nice. I will make up some cards with the images soon and post them . Keep crafting Beadymax

Ordered some gorgeous Lavinia stamps on line on saturday and they came today :)) I can't wait to use them. Some lovely fairies, toadstools and flowers. Soooo yummy.
I'll keep you posted with how I get on with them. They are silhouette type stamps so will look lush on chalked backgrounds I think.. :)
