Wellington Bear

Wellington Bear

This is a bear that can be used for many different
age groups, male or female cards.  There is
such a variety of situations/backgrounds etc that this
bear has posed in.

This first card has been made using this months goody bag
from DO Crafts.  Linen papers, sentiments, brads,
paper flowers, ribbon and decoupage sheet.

The only additiion was using some inks
to the edges to give an aged distress look.

Jigsaw Gift and Card

I had great fun with this card as infact it really is
quite simple to make once I had the main
idea in my head!!

I used Wellington Designstax 12 x 12 paper to
back the card, sentiment, mat and layered.

Photo corners to hold the acetate in place which
in turn is holding the jigsaw in place, whilst still
allowing the receiver to use the jigsaw by slipping
it out of its cover.

A couple of the stickers to the sides for added
interest and a piece of organza ribbon.

The JIGSAW - was stamped using two stamps
from the 8 x 8 stamp set with versafine inkpad.
I then coloured Wellington with watercolour
pencils, which gave a nice aged look.

A Card for Dad

This card was made using a card kit, but changing the
insert/backing paper, using a piece of ribbon, buttons and
a sticky tag makes the card completely different to
everybody else.

Michael Powell designs

The first two cards shown here are from a
tall card kit which consist of one card blank
and enough decoupage to complete
the card - but that is not all
there is enough toppers etc to make many more
cards, I would estimate at least another 5 cards easily.

Having fun using up bits and pieces!

Cupcakes Galore

Lucy Cromwell designs

These cards are from a Do Crafts kit and come with an
array of goodies for you to embellish with.

You cannot go wrong with these the cards fold fairly flat
depending on how much depth you put on your
decoupage/embellishments.

I have used clear glaze, decoupage, extra cupcake
toppers and sentiments.

Molly Bloom

Molly Bloom stamps and pro markers

Had the best time meeting Claire Rowlands in
Weston Supermare the other weekend.  For those
of you who do not know of Claire she is the
designer of Molly Bloom Stamps.

The two cards below are the cards made on
the day with Claire.  She has the most imaginative
mind and really uses some great items, some of which
you may find in your own homes, garages etc and never
thought of using on a card before - rusty wire being one!

There is a lot of work in these cards, but the end result
I feel is really worth it.

Since going to the workshop I have made many more on
a varying theme of these, which I shall post at some point,
mainly when time prevails.

If you do not think you can use a stamp, try these stamps
as each one is very deeply etched, so give outstanding
results every time.

Happy Crafting!

Typography stamp

Posted on: Monday, 14 May 2012
This card was made using Papermania typography stamp
'Son' and '1'
Using the goody bag this month from DOcrafts
and Wellington papers mat and layer as required.
Stamp the word son three times on different
papers and cut out a letter from each paper
to make the word son.  Doing the same
thing again with the number '1' stamped only
once cut out as before.

Layer these stamped images as seen and using
papermania stickers I made the word 'number'
across the top.
I then used Anita's peel off 'buttons' on to various papers
and cut out then adhered to the card.

This card looks very dimensional, but is in fact
quite flat making this a great card to post.

Papermania Stamps

Posted on: Tuesday, 8 May 2012
Hot Diggity Dog Stamp used on the first card.

The image was stamped twice one left without being
coloure the other was punched out with a 1½" scalloped
xcut punch and coloured to create the spotlight technique.
The first stamped image was cut out with a nesting die and the
punched circle had dimension pads on the back and layered
over the first image.

Boofle backing papers were then cut and
embossed with the patchwork embossing
folder.
Sentiment stamped and cut out with xcut dies and
Anita's ribbon threaded through.

John Bryers stamp of a Model T Ford Car stamped onto
polka dot paper using sepia versafine ink and highlighted
with a white gel pen.  Lightly distress the edges prior to
mat and layering on to orange card stock.

Computer sentiment cut using xcut dies and embossed in
the patchwork embossing folder.  Three boofle buttons
threaded with differing threads into bows added to finish.

A good male card!

Distress Inked Cards

Posted on: Wednesday, 2 May 2012
Using distress inks onto a smooth card at least three
colours to make the back ground.
Then I used a leaf stamp with light green distress ink over
the top to add more interest.
Pilkington tree stamps inked in forest green distress
ink and and white gel pen to highlight the light.

Sheen Douglass sentiment stamped in sepia versafine
and highlighted with a white gel pen. Mat and layered on
to a black DL card and orange organza ribbon with pearl
stones to finish.

The same method was used on the card below,
but stamped on to labels prior to sticking on to brown
card.  Corners punched from excess labels and polka
dot organza ribbon with metal effect pearls to finish.

Both cards are very simple to make.
Give it a go!

Boofle Card

Posted on: Tuesday, 1 May 2012

Boofle decoupage on birthday word.
This decoupage was layered using silicone and placed
on to a strip of fabric paper and Boofle backing papers mat
and layered.  Boofle ribbon place across with a ribbon from
same brand.  Three boofle buttons and a sentiment 'Happy' mat
and layered with fabric and black card stock to match.
All adhered to a DL cream card blank.

Free Digi Stamp

Posted on: Thursday, 26 April 2012
This card was made using a free vintage digi
stamp. Cutting the image out with an xcut
die, using a gel pen around the edges for faux
stitching and lightly distressing.

Boofle fabric paper mat and layered onto black
card stock, white gel pen used again for faux stitching.

Wild Orchid Flowers, hand coloured leaves and home
made hat pins with a dusting of glitter for effect.

Some stock lace and ivory ribbon and three
buttons.  Computer sentiment with a paper glazed
button with silk thread in the middle.

I am pleased with the overall design of this card!

Lili of the valley stamps

Posted on: Tuesday, 24 April 2012
Anniversary card made using Lili of the valley stamps.

Image has been water coloured/H20's cut out with Xcut
die and lightly distress the edges.

Sentiment stamped and cut out with an Xcut
die and the edges lightly distressed.

Flowers all cut using Xcut blooms die and the leaves
are a Xcut quilling die.

Memory Box corner die used for added interest.

This wedding card was again made with a Lili of the valley stamp.
Coloured in the same way and cut out using Xcut postage dies.

Memory Box heart die was also used to give detail
and hearts embossing folder used on the backing papers.

Boots

Posted on: Tuesday, 24 April 2012
'These boots are made for walking'

This is a digi stamp water coloured, die cut using postage
Xcut die and embossed using whimsey leaf folder.

Lightly distress then mat and layered to card stock.

Cut six strips of backing paper and layer on to
the same card stock.  Using dimension pads
adhere to 6" x 6" white card blank.
Stick three pieces of organza ribbon
behind image prior to sticking to strips.

Mat and layer sentiment.
Punch out leaves from same backing paper.
Thread three buttons with hessian twine to finish.

Great for using up bits of scrap paper!

Stamping - Snowdrops

Posted on: Tuesday, 24 April 2012
Sheen Douglass stamp - Snowdrops

This stamp is so pretty, I have used Distress Inks (two)
on this stamp and then used a damp brush to pull
some of the ink to other areas in the stamped image.

It makes for a very delicate image.
Spell binder die to cut out the image frame,
go green back ground papers, Anita's ribbon and
a magazine freebie tag.

A very simple, but effective card.

This is a wooden box which was bought in its plain
state and I have used acrylic pearl paints to decorate.

Once I had painted at least two coats on and allowed
enough time to dry, I stamped the snow drop image
on the front.

Sheena's stamps are good quality
with deep etching, so even though the wooden surface
is pitted the image still remains true.

Great for a gift.

Fairies

Posted on: Tuesday, 24 April 2012
I am not into fairies as a rule, but this range
from Papermania is just brilliant.  The colours
are out of this world, and the drawings
are to die for.

Very simple stepper cards but they look
so enchanting the more you look the more
you see!

Neighbour Wood Cards

Posted on: Wednesday, 18 April 2012
These cards all come from the Neighbour Wood Range.

I love countryside/nature images  and these fit
the bill nicely.

The first card is a card on a card, just undo the
ribbon bow and put your secrete message inside.

Side stepper card rabbits having fun!  Great for
male or female.

I love this one of the fawn.

I have made the pins from my bead collection
just to add that bit of bling.

A little birdie told me..... another sweat image
and it looks as if it is in the tree.

Hot Diggity Dog Box

Posted on: Wednesday, 18 April 2012
I started with a plain wooden box and painted it
with pearlized acrylic paint inside and out.

I then added various items from the Hot Diggity Dog
Range.

This is one of my favorite images from the range
and it is decoupaged.

I painted the inside with a different colour I thought
these two colours went well together.

Nature

Posted on: Wednesday, 18 April 2012
These cards come from the Jayne Nettley Meyhew CD
Again these are very simple, because the work is
already done for you.

I just love how well these have turned out.

German Shephard again this is decoupaged and
kept as a sepia drawing.

This kingfisher has it's wing decoupaged,
just to give added interest.

Gate Fold Elephant Card

Butterfly Cards

Posted on: Wednesday, 18 April 2012

Here I have made a selection of very
simple cards.
I have used Papermania Capsule papers, blooms
and ribbons which all match together a dream.

The butter flies are from Anitas range of Flutterbys.
All these cards are on 6" x 6" white cardstock.

The one below is my favorite

50th Birthday Card For A Man

Posted on: Monday, 2 April 2012
This card is perfect for a man who is into caravans/travelling

Digi stamp coloured using Twinkling H20's paints
Cut out with a XCut Stamp shaped die.
Mat and layered onto Stripped paper and dark grey,
and then onto blue background paper.  Corners die
cut and double layered.  Computer sentiment again
layered onto scalloped circle of stripped paper.
Cotton checked ribbon, three checked card candi
and one dog brad to finish the card.

Nitwit Creations

Stepper Penny Slider Card

Sounds very grand, but in fact it is quite easy.
Score your white card stock so when it is folded
the card will fit into a DL envelope.

I have used Nitwit Meow designs on this card, very
cute and loved by many.

Mat and layer backing paper as shown
prior to adhering to the white card stock.
I have glued a pom pom onto bakers twine
and glued to the back of the mat and
layer, this adds a bit of fun into the image.
Computer sentiment and red chalk to colour.

For the penny slider part, I have put paw print paper
to the back.  Adhered faux fur paper onto white
card stock and cut out 12mm slot for the penny
to slide.  Dimension pads used to adhere
the slider part to the card front, this leaves
enough of a gap for the pennies to slide.
Two pennies and a foam dimension
between them, with a picture topper of a ball
of wool to cover the penny.
Hey Presto it works!!

This second card does not have any moving
parts, but this does not detract from a great
image.

I have used a bracket design card, covered
it with a polka dot backing paper and put
a lace design sticker across the bottom.
I have used a spellbinder dies to cut out two
frames in different sizes.
Computer sentiment with a  plastic dome cover
which does not show up in this picture very well.
Papermania flower to back the sentiment and
Nitwit designs to finish the card.

This card looks better in the flesh, this
photo does not do it justice.

Our Little Lamb

What can I say just love this from Nitwit.

Mat and layer Nitwit paper onto black card stock
Tied a piece of blue organza ribbon around and tied
another piece into a knot (faux bow).
Spellbinder lace die to cut a frame,
again used Nitwit backing papers.
Nitwit lamb topper, sentiment and words.

Who's Looking At You

This is a stamped image, stamp by Olifant.
Distress inks to water colour the image.
XCut nesting dies to cut out the stamped image
and backing frame.  6" x 6" white card blank,
Mat and layered design house backing paper
on to black card stock and used the same
paper/card to cut out the corners.  I used
a blue button threaded with silk ribbon on to
the corner pieces. A strip of paper by
Pepper and friends collection mat and
layered on blue card adhered across the middle.
Lace leaf stickers placed in opposing corners
and a computer sentiment cut out using an
XCut die.

House Mouse

Posted on: Wednesday, 29 February 2012
Speedy Recovery

This card was made for a neighbour who's friend had just had a heart by-pass.

A5 white card blank.
Nitwit backing paper mat and layered
onto black card stock to frame.
Nitwit paper corners cut with a sizzix die.
Blue organza ribbon tied around the
main body of the card.
House Mouse decoupage cut
and adhered using pinflair glue, so the image
could be shaped and layered
onto black card again to frame it.

House Mouse can have some fiddly bits to it,
but it is up to you whether you want to cut
them out or not.  If you use pinflair gel it
is much easier to glue in place as it is clear.

Diggity Mouse Cup Cake

Posted on: Monday, 27 February 2012
Cross over folded card

Two cards put together, so you have two flaps,
or a large enough piece of card stock scored
twice to make two flaps and each flap
cut at an angle to make triangles.

Cream Paper mania card used here.  On the flaps
(Diggity backing papers) green and pink paper
mat and layered to the angles. Mouse on cup
cake decoupage mat and layered on to textured
card, so it remains rigid. Anita's pink glittered ribbon
tied in a bow on an angle.

On the second flap
Pink capsule flower and a circle topper
backed on to a die cut foil circle.

The inside of the card is brown Kraft paper and pink
paper mat and layered, with light green triangle
corners embossed in Swiss dot folder to the bottom.
Bunting Xcut die used to cut
plain pink paper four times and holes punched
with baker twine threaded through.  Best Wishes
stamped onto the bunting with pink gems.

Rocking Card

Posted on: Monday, 27 February 2012
This card was made using a piece of white card stock cut
into a circle and scored down the middle to fold.
I used Paper mania decorative paper cutting the
edge with pinking scissors (both sides covered)
Xcut circle die cut out purple textured card and
adhered pyramage woodland fold to it.
Sentiment from the same range backed onto
the same purple card and three pieces of Anita's
silver glittered ribbon looped and stuck to the back
of the sentiment, before sticking to the card.
I then used paper flowers and leaves
to embellish to rest of the card

Tri Fold Thank You

Posted on: Monday, 27 February 2012
A4 white card scored into thirds and
then cut at an angle.  Pink capsule
papers cut slightly smaller than each panel
on the card. Then the capsule papers were
embossed with Paper mania Heart Tri Emboss
Folder and chalked. Pick Capsule
flowers and bakers twin to centre.
Large die cut butterfly from Anita's range
adhered down its spin, so both wings
are free. Sentiment from the forever friends range
and inked in pink around the edge.

Demonstration day - Made a card for a lady in the crowd

Posted on: Tuesday, 21 February 2012
On one of my demonstration days in
'The Market Gallery', Poole, Dorset,
a lady in the crowd asked if I would
make a card with a photograph of her dog
which she brought with her.
A challenge was undertaken and the
out come was quite good.

I used Portobella road papers,
green textured card for the corners,
punched circle and a punched scalloped
circle inked the edges and hand
written sentiment as was asked for.
Pearl gems added for interest to the
sentiment circle. Polka dot organza ribbon in green
and orange to match the overall
colour scheme of the card
and another three Papermania gems in green
to main card area of the card.
