Came up with this idea when I was doing one of the daily sketches and thought it looked quite effective. It's a cheap way to make your own Xmas embellishments (thought it was appropriate considering the mad rush to make Xmas cards that we seem to go through every year!) so I thought I'd share.
Basically all you need is some silver Anita's mirri card and coloured card, some form of adhesive, small gemstones (I use the Anita's gem wheel but any small gems will do the trick!), a small die (I use the smallest of the 5-piece X-Cut Ornate Frame Nesting Dies), a circle punch (I use the X-Cut 1" circle punch) and a small Christmas punch (I use a small snowflake punch).
First, die cut an ornate frame from your silver mirri card and use your Christmas punch to punch a shape from the silver cardstock too. Next, punch a circle of your coloured cardstock. To assemble, stick your circle in the centre of the ornate silver frame and then your Christmas punched image in the centre of that. To complete, add gemstones of a co-ordinating colour to finish and ta-da you're done! And in true Blue Peter style, here's one I prepared earlier...

There are a couple of different cards in my gallery that I have used these embellishments on if you are in need of inspiration :)
Happy crafting everyone!
