Step by Step

1

To create the base part of the calendar, cut out a 27cm x 27cm square of blue card. Using the multiscore board, use lines 3 and 5 to create 3cm sections in both directions across the card.

2

Fold the sides down as shown and create a box shape.

3

To make the dividers, cut eight 6cm x 17cm pieces of card. Place on the score board and repeat the scoring along the strips and cut as shown.

4

Slot these sections together into the base and seal the edges over the small flaps to hold in place.

5

Use a large piece of chipboard from the back of a card pack, and cover using the Christmas papers. Attach the box sections to the base of this panel.

6

Cut out 25 small four petal die cuts and fold as shown. Glue the bottom flap to the base of the cross sections.

7

Take the image from the front of the card and cut to fit the front of the box. Place on score board and scoring between lines 3 and 5, create a scored panel. Trim each side of the score lines and glue these sections to the front of the box.

8

Finish the little doors with a primary brad to make it easier to open.

9

Create the top of the box by cutting a piece of red card with the doorplate die. Position your topper in the centre and attach to the top of the box so it overhangs the edge slightly.

10

Use the wide satin ribbon as decoration if desired.

Hi. I'm Jo and I'm delighted to be a designer for 'do crafts'. I have been crafting for many years, my interest starting with cross stitch and continuing onto card making around 5 years ago, recently being able to have some work published and winning competitions. I started with the shoebox of goodies like everyone does, and this has gradually taken over my house. I love card making and scrapbooking and can't wait to give you all an insight into crafting.
