Step by Step

1

Die cut the largest heart from thick board (such as the back of the black cardstock pack)

2

Using Copper Ink and powder apply and heat several layers of powder (5-6) until thick and flat.

3

Prepare stamps by attaching a patchwork of images to the 5x7” clear block. Apply clear watermark ink to protect the stamps and allow them to release easily from the layer of molten powder.

4

Reheat the powder and once molten quickly press the stamps in firmly. Leave for ten seconds before releasing from the heart.

5

Rub inks over the heart to colour. Leave to dry.

6

Rough up the edges of the card blank using the rough surface at the bottom of the switch tip tool. Ink with brown and red to give a leather look.

7

Rough up the edges of the card blank using the rough surface at the bottom of the switch tip tool. Ink with brown and red to give a leather look.

8

Use individual urban stamps to make a background on the grid card, stamping over the edges for a more natural look. Use different colours and fill in spaces all over. Attach to the brown cardstock, leaving a narrow border.

9

Trim brown cardstock to 6 x 11cm. Ink the embossing folder with metallic pigment ink and emboss the brown panel. Tear the edges and attach to the right side of the grid kraft card panel.

10

Tear strips of burgundy tissue paper and stamp with copper pigment ink. Set the inks with a heat tool to dry. Attach across the brick panel as shown to give a crumpled border.

11

Attach the “metallic” heart to the front using a cordless hot melt glue gun. Now attach to this main panel to the card using 3d foam.

12

Emboss a banner from the Forever Friends embossing folder set. Sand an outline sticker sentiment to dull the gold finish and add to the centre of the banner. Ink and fold the centre of the banner to make it stand proud when attached to the project.

13

Finish with adhesive gem hearts.

Hi there! My earliest memory of crafting is sitting with my Nan embroidering when I was tiny. Since then I’ve enjoyed cross-stitch, knitting, & a multitude of paper-crafting techniques. I have been making cards for years but really became hooked when I was introduced to heat embossing. I’ve been addicted to paper, brads, ribbon, stamps, beads, wire…. ever since! I’m really looking forward to meeting you to show you what you can achieve with all the wonderful products available to you!
