Step by Step
1
Trim eight 12x 1.5” strips of Classic Christmas papers and adhere them back to back. Glue these double thickness strips together to give one long length. Before constructing the decoration draw the shape of the tree you wish to achieve on paper. Mark where the length of beads will pass through the paper and, using this as a guide mark and pierce holes along the length of the strip.
2
Cut an extra long length of beading wire to create the “trunk” and make a small loop at one end, securing in place with a crimp bead. First thread on a large red pearl and then pass the wire through the first pierced hole in the strip. Add a random selection of beads before threading through the next hole in the paper strip. Continue in this fashion until you have created the tree shape and threaded the wire through the final hole in the strip. Place a few more beads on the wire before making a further loop at the end.
3
Create a paper tassle by quilling a fringed 12” strip of contrasting paper and top with a ribbon loop. Attach the tassle to the base of the tree with a jump ring. Add a circular toggle to the top of the tree as a hanger and decorate with a ribbon bow and paper flower. Finish with a number of ribbon bows tied randomnly along the length of the trunk
