Step by Step
1
Trim Black card to 5.75” square, silver mirriboard to 5.5” square and purple hot air balloon to 5.25” square. Distress and ink the purple paper with Dark Orange artiste dye ink. Also distresss the mirriboard and sand the edges for a brushed metal effect. Matt both layers onto the black card before also distressing the edges. Punch a holed border round the mirri board frame. (Use these techniques on all the panels that are created from this point.)
2
Age and ink the edges of a green scalloped Chronology Designer die cut. Cut so that it is 5.25” in length and then attach to the left side of the paper square from step 1.
3
Trim black card to 4.75 x 2 inches, and reducing by .25” in dimension each time first cut silver mirriboard and then smoke steampunk word Chronology paper. Treating the papers as before, layer up. Place the panel about a third the way up the section created in steps 1 and 2.
4
Wrap wide Papermania Vintage Notes lace border across the narrow panel and overlay with thin lilac ribbon. The entire panel can now be attached to the front of a 6x6” card blank, using 3D foam tape.
5
Create the smaller square section by cutting black card to 3.75” square. Again cut mirriboard and blue cogs paper .25” smaller in dimension each time. Emboss the cogs paper using the Xcut Clock folder. Age and ink each layer as in step 1 before attaching together. Add centrally to the front of the card using 3D foam.
6
Stamp the Chronology “Looking Glasses” image onto white card with Artiste black pigment ink and heat emboss with clear powder. Remove the female character from the design and water colour using Artiste markers. To tone and age the colours blend chocolate Artiste dye ink softly over the coloured image. Reduce to 3.25” in width and stick to the bottom of the blue cogs square.
7
Die cut 3 butterflies (two of the smallest and one of the next size up) from orange Chronology paper. Also die cut a small and larger cog from silver mirri board.
8
Layer up a clock face and hands onto the larger cog and secure the embellishments together using a Chronology brad. Cluster with two copper cogs, centered with brads in the bottom right corner of the image. Tint the petal tips of three lilac paper roses and entwine into the the design as pictured. Create a pale lilac gem flourish amongst the roses on the right side of the panel.
9
Ink the edges of the three butterflies and add the smaller silver die-cut cog to the centre of the larger one. Use clock hands and brads to create the bodies. Stick the larger and one of the smaller fluttering on the top left of the focal panel and the remaining small one onto the end the larger hand on the clock face.
10
Using Vintage Notes rub on letters, create your sentiment. After inking each individual word apply to the card as shown.
11
Finish with a lilac ribbon bow on the bottom left section of lace.
