Step by Step

3 Press the seam back and stitch along the top using a regular foot. When you get to the zipper pull leave the needle down in the fabric, lift the foot and maneuver the zip pull past the foot.

4 Fold the fabric around and place the right sides of the fabric together again. Stitch close to the zip using the zip-foot.

Press the fabric back and stitch along the top edge as before with the regular foot.

6 Fold the bag flat with the wrong sounds outwards and the zip in the centre.

7 With the zip open stitch straight across the bag just inside the zip stops at either end, being sure to go back and forth across the zip section a couple of times. Trim off the excess fabric.

8 Pinch the corners of the bag lining up the end seam with the side of the bag. Use a ruler to measure a 2” corner and draw across with a chalk pencil.
