Step by Step
1
Texture side facing, mark along each edge of the Gemstone cardstock at 4” and 8” and score from top to bottom creating a grid of 9, 4” squares. Fold the card away from you along the score lines and open out. Turn the card over and score diagonally across each of the 4 corner squares. Folding these inwards as you refold the box creates large, triangular gluing tabs. Cut these down, so you are left with approx ½“ tabs running down the inside of the box.
2
To decorate, take the Pansy Purple cardstock and cut 4, 3.5” squares. With the Blue Lilac cardstock cut another 4 squares measuring 3.25”. Finally, using the Papermania Glitter Vellum cut 4, 3” squares and round the corners off using the Xcut corner punch. Mat and layer all 3 elements and finish off with silver brads. Place these on each side of the box with double sided tape. Now you can assemble the box using Anita’s Tacky Glue ensuring each tab is secure before moving on to the next one.
3
For the lid, cut a matching piece of cardstock 5”x 5” and mark a ½” border around the outside. Score from top to bottom along each edge slightly outside the ½” border to allow for the extra card folds on the main box. Following the same folding procedure as the box, turn the card over and score diagonally across the 4 corner squares. Again, when folded inwards this will create gluing tabs to secure the lid.
4
Cut a scalloped circle from the Glitter Vellum using the Xcut Nesting Dies – Scalloped Circle, largest die. Then from the Robin Topper and cut a smaller scalloped circle. Glue together, punch a hole in the centre and fit an eyelet to the punched hole. Thread a piece of Xmas Ribbon through the eyelet and secure from the reverse side using double sided tape. Glue to the lid of your box with Tacky Glue.
5
Finally, secure the same ribbon around the edge of the box lid also with Tacky Glue.
