DOCRAFTS CREATIVITY MAGAZINE ISSUE 33 MAY/JUN 2012

This issue we feature a delightful collection from Lucy Cromwell by Papermania, off ering all the cups of tea, cake and bunting you will need to set the scene. And just to prove how versatile this range is, you can also find it in our ‘Wedding Special’ feature and used to make a Father’s Day card in our ‘make a Father’s Day card’ challenge! Our ‘Wedding Special’ feature also includes jewellery for the bride and a charming idea to hold onto those precious memories of the big day!

Step by Step

1

Cover the front of a square white card with patterned paper from the ‘Daisy and Dandelion gift set’. Round the corners using the corner rounding punch and ink the edges in creamy brown chalk ink.

2

Draw a dashed brown line in pen all around the edges and a zig-zag line along the border strip as fake stitching.

3

Die cut a large burgundy circle and a slightly smaller white circle using the QuicKutz dies and Epic Six die cutting machine. Layer up and draw a dashed line around the edge of the white circle. Attach to the bottom right of the card with 3D foam dots.

4

Layer up the die-cut characters with 3D foam dots at varying heights to create dimension and apply 3D gloss to various parts of the images for extra shine. Leave to dry. Decorate around the edge of the circle with gold adhesive stones.

5

Layer a die-cut Christmas sentiment onto burgundy paper and cut around leaving a border of burgundy showing. Draw a dashed line around the edge in brown pen and glue to the top left of the card. Add two die cut snowflakes beside, decorated around the edge in brown pen and a sparkly gem added to the centre. Create three more to the bottom left to finish.
