This issue we feature a delightful collection from Lucy Cromwell by Papermania, off ering all the cups of tea, cake and bunting you will need to set the scene. And just to prove how versatile this range is, you can also find it in our ‘Wedding Special’ feature and used to make a Father’s Day card in our ‘make a Father’s Day card’ challenge! Our ‘Wedding Special’ feature also includes jewellery for the bride and a charming idea to hold onto those precious memories of the big day!

Step by Step

1

This exploding book is easier than it looks, and makes a great feature of the notelets and double sided papers in the Go Green goody bag.

2

Cut three 20cm squares from the double sided Go Green papers. Score in half vertically, horizontally and along the diagonal from top left to bottom right.

3

Stick the squares together in a diagonal line so that the top right quarter of one page sticks to the bottom left quarter of the next, as shown in the diagram. Make sure you don’t overlap the score lines.

4

For the first and third squares, make valley folds along the vertical and horizontal score lines, and a mountain fold along the diagonal. For the middle page, make a valley fold along the diagonal, and mountain folds along the other two score lines.

5

Mat four Go Green notelets onto plain papers from the paper pack and trim the bottom edges with Mini Scallop scissors. Stick to the flat square pages along the book’s diagonal.

6

Stamp gardening images from the Go Green stamp sets onto white card, colour, cut out, and use to decorate the diagonally folded pages. Add titles (e.g. ‘Veg’ and ‘Flowers’) using Alphamini Cardstock Stickers.

7

To make book covers, cover two 11cm squares of stiff card with Go Green paper. Stick 35cm of boutique ribbon horizontally across the middle of the inside of one cover. Stick this cover to the back of the top right page. Stick the other cover to the back of the bottom left page – this is the front cover.

8

Decorate the front cover with another matted notelet, and an Alphamini sticker title. Fold up your exploding book, and tie a bow in the ribbon to hold it closed.

9

Use the book to record all your seed sowing and harvesting!

I started making cards for family & friends a couple of years ago, partly to give me an excuse to buy lots of pretty papers & sparkly things. I've been a keen photographer for many years, & have recently discovered the joys of scrapbooking. My own crafting really took off after the first 'do crafts' demo I attended. It filled me with confidence to try all sorts of new techniques & products at home & I really hope my demos can do the same for you. Happy crafting.
