Step by Step

1

Ink the swirly chipboard frame using warm red ink. As chipboard is quite absorbent it will dry nice and quickly.

2

Use the glue pen from the hot foils kit to edge the chipboard frame. Allow to dry thoroughly until all the glue turns completely clear. Apply red foil over the glued areas until the glue is totally covered. Apply gold foil over to catch any tiny sections that may not be covered - this gives a great vintage look.

3

Repeat gluing (and foiling as described once the glue is totally dry) with a large flourish shape, a couple of stars and the word ‘joy’. Use gold foil followed by a little red to accent.

4

Roughly apply a permanent Glue runner (you need one made up of dots of glue) around the edge of the text paper sheet. Apply red and then a little gold foil over. Gut about a 8x8” square from the centre to use on another project.

5

Position the foiled chipboard frame over the red spotty paper and draw around the outside edge. Cut just inside this line and glue the frame on top. Glue centrally onto the text paper.

6

Trim green stars paper to measure approximately 10cm by 21cm. Ink the edges with brown ink and glue towards the left hand side of the page. Trim reindeer paper to measure 10cm by 19cm. Ink and add to the centre of the page as shown.

7

Apply green gingham and striped ribbon across the page. Staple in place and trim the ends neatly.

8

Position the large flourish on the right hand side. Add the photos, tucking behind some of the parts of the flourish.

9

Add a green gingham bow to the ribbon on the right hand side.

10

Tuck some die-cut tags behind the top of the photos, inking the edges of each first.

11

Add the foiled stars to the bottom left corner.

12

Apply the ‘joy’ chipboard centrally above the photos. Use Cardstock stickers to complete the title.

13

Pop out the square robin die-cut from the 8x8 paper pack. Glue it back to back with some patterned paper and ink the edges of both sides. Crumple, roll and fold the corners to distress them and glue at the top right corner.

Scrapbooking satisfies my daily need for a creative outlet, it complements my other loves, photography and my Newfoundland dogs perfectly!
