Step by Step

1

Cut four strips measuring 12 x 1 inch from the red gingham paper. Adhere one strip to one side of the white cardstock leaving an inch border. Repeat with the other strips.

2

Adhere a 9.5 x 9.5 inch piece of swirly green paper to the centre of the layout.

3

Rip the bottom edge of a piece of 12 x 2.5 inch piece of green branch paper. Adhere to the bottom of the green square paper.

4

Rip the bottom edge of a piece of 12 x 2 inch piece of red flower paper and adhere over the green branch paper.

5

Cut four 9 x 0.5 inch strips from the red polka dot paper. Adhere the strips on the green swirl paper to create a frame. Adhere a green polka dot bottom in each corner.

6

Emboss a white piece of card stock with the Twinkling embossing folder. Adhere to the right side of layout, inside the polka dot strips.

7

Mount a 6 x 4 inch photo onto red cardstock and adhere to the left side of the layout over lapping the embossed card.

8

Attach a length of chain with glitter brads to the bottom of the photo. Make little charms for the chain using the eye pins and beads. Attach to the chain.

9

Cut three 12 x 0.5 inch strips of red and white flower paper. Fold in half length ways and roll one end in to create the spiral flourish. Use a good amount of glue and adhere to the left side of the photo. The tacky glue once dry will hold these securely. Repeat with the pink flower paper but this side roll all the paper up so it looks like a cinnamon roll. Adhere these to the layout.

10

Freehand cut three large holly leaves from dark green paper and punch three embossed holly leaves from pale green paper. Adhere to left side of the layout over lapping some of the swirls. Decorate with red petals and polka dot buttons.

11

Adhere a line of polka dot buttons to the base of the photo.

12

Cut a piece of the stripy paper large enough for your journaling. This is a great way to use the stripped paper. Journal your story and adhere to the right of the photo.

13

Finish the layout by using the alphabets to create your title.

I have always been 'crafty' and while sitting with my gran when I was younger I admired all she did and said to myself that I wanted to create things like her. I am just a girl who has been let loose with paper and scissors. Can I make a mess ... You sure bet I can! I am a freelance designer for docrafts and enjoy creating projects for the Creativity! Magazine, Creativity! Club TV and demos.
