DOCRAFTS CREATIVITY MAGAZINE ISSUE 33 MAY/JUN 2012

This issue we feature a delightful collection from Lucy Cromwell by Papermania, off ering all the cups of tea, cake and bunting you will need to set the scene. And just to prove how versatile this range is, you can also find it in our ‘Wedding Special’ feature and used to make a Father’s Day card in our ‘make a Father’s Day card’ challenge! Our ‘Wedding Special’ feature also includes jewellery for the bride and a charming idea to hold onto those precious memories of the big day!

Step by Step

1

Trim 2 strips of khaki coloured cardstock from the Papermania pack to measure 30x6cm. Punch the bottom edge of each with the border punch and then crumple up. Smooth out slightly and then lightly ink over with white and brown inks to give the effect of leather. Overlap the two strips about a third of the way up a sheet of fuchsia cardstock from the same pack.

2

Position a piece of the fairy paper from the Enchanted Christmas pack vertically towards the right of the page. Apply a piece of sequin waste across the page as shown. Position a piece of the holly paper horizontally to the left hand side.

3

Sand the edges of three photos of increasing size and position across the page as shown. Distress a kraft tag and add your journalling and a doodled border. Wrap cord around and finish with a bow to the front. Position to the right of the photos. Add gemstones to the top.

4

Knot both ends of the purple lace so you have a piece measuring about 31cm long and add a little glue to hold it in place.

5

Use a sewing machine (or hand stitch) a border around the edge of the page (securing the ribbon in place) and along the edges of the sequin waste and cardstock borders.

6

Cut three circles of felt measuring about 15cm across. Cut into a spiral and coil to make a felt rose. Secure with glue and affix to the right hand end of the ribbon. Add coils of glitter organza ribbon.

7

Create some matching brads using the brad maker kit. Position either side of the coiled ‘roses’ along the line of the ribbon. Add a ribbon bow under. Knot some short lengths of teal ribbon to the left hand side.

8

Add your title with the canvas alphabet stickers and finish with a dry brushed border using white paint.

I have always been 'crafty' and while sitting with my gran when I was younger I admired all she did and said to myself that I wanted to create things like her. I am just a girl who has been let loose with paper and scissors. Can I make a mess ... You sure bet I can! I am a freelance designer for docrafts and enjoy creating projects for the Creativity! Magazine, Creativity! Club TV and demos.
