Step by Step
1
Cut 12”x12” grey card in half to measure 12”x6” and score in half and fold to make a 6”x6” blank.
2
Cut a dark grey mat slightly smaller than the blank and patterned paper slightly smaller than the mat. Ink edges with black ink and layer onto card front.
3
In the centre of the card die cut or cut with a craft knife, a circle with a diameter no bigger than 10cm. Any bigger than this and the lettering won’t fit.
4
Bend a metallic butterfly’s wing to give dimension and attach to front of card with foam pads along its body.
5
Apply letter stickers round the aperture to spell out “flutterby wishes”. Rub a little talc onto the back of the parts of the stickers overhanging the aperture to stop them sticking to the inside of the card.
6
Add white gems to complete the circle and red gems in the corners.
7
Cut patterned paper to fit inside card, ink the edges and stick down.
8
Attach a butterfly inside with foam pads so some of it can be seen through the aperture and add a “trail” with gems.
