Step by Step
1
To make the base section - Cut white textured cardstock to measure 23cm x 11.5cm. Score at 9cm and 14cm down the short width. Make two valley folds and used a bone folder to tighten and strengthen score lines. You can now decorate the front and back panels. I used Xcut nesting punches, the scallop boarder punch and Forever Friends Cosy Christmas Paper with a Jelly Brad from the same range to decorate my panels.
2
To make the side pieces (make 2) - Cut 2 pieces of cardstock to 7cm x 10cm. Score down the long part of the card at 1cm, 3.5cm and 6cm. On one end of the short side score across at 1cm. Fold the 1cm and 6cm folds into mountain folds and the 3.5cm fold into a valley fold. Then fold the remaining 1cm fold at the bottom into a mountain fold. Use your bone folder to flatten and strengthen the folds.
3
Cut out the small square sections at the bottom which have been created by your scoring. Place double sided tape within the right fold the left fold and the bottom fold. These folds will all be mountain folds and will slip inside the box section you made earlier. On the 3.5 cm fold pierce a hole about ½ to 1cm down the fold, this is where you will place your brad to hold the ribbon handle in later.
4
Hold the base section in a U shape and slip each folded side panel in one at a time. I find it easer to start by sticking the bottom on and then sticking the sides together. Push brad through side hole and pierce hole through ribbon and attach onto brad on the inside of the box and close. Do the same for second side making sure ribbon is not too long and stands up nicely.
5
To make the cards (make 4) - Cut card to 18cm x 8.5cm. Score centrally down the short part of the card at 9cm. Fold and strengthen scores with a bone folder.
6
Cut a 4 pieces of Cosy Christmas paper to 8.5cm x 8cm. Using Watermark Ink stamp the Bauble stamp onto the paper using the section of the stamp you desire. Next stamp the greeting. Cover with Silver embossing powder, let the heat gun warm up and then heat the powder until it is hard. Place double sided tape on the back of the paper, turn back every second corner and when you have it lined up on the card the way you like it, press down the corners and slide the tape out from the side of the paper.
7
To make the envelopes - Cut paper to 21cm x 11.5cm. Score at 5.5cm and 15cm down the short side. Score at 1cm and 11cm down the long side
8
Cut out the four outer sections within the 1cm and 11cm score marks, make sure you cut on the inside of the score lines (as in the most internal part, no score line should be left visible when you have cut away. You will be left with one central long panel and two 1cm panels on either side in the middle. On these middle panels cut the edges at a slight angle so when all are folded inwards they won’t catch on anything. Fold all the score lines inwards and strengthen the scores.
9
Corner all long panel edges to smoothen the look of the envelope. Place double sided tape on the larger bottom panel to the sides. Fold in the middle side pieces in towards the centre and bring bottom panel up and stick to these panels. Ensure your double sided tape is not wider than 1cm or it could stick out into the inside of the envelope and ruin your card. Place some double sided tape on the top flap so that it can be sealed when ready.
