Step by Step

1

Adhere two A5 card blanks together to create an A5 tri-fold card. Fold the front third in half to give a stepped card design.

2

To cover the background trim a piece of green textured cardstock to leave a narrow border when attached to the card blank. Trim Rose Garden patterned paper to fit the green layer and punch the top two corners with the flower punch. Edge with Orchid Pastel Ink from the Primary Queue before attaching centrally to the green cardstock.

3

To complete the backing add ribbon and bows to the right side and add co-ordinating brads to the centre of the punched flower corners. Attach the finished panel to back of the A5 blank.

4

To decorate the smaller sized step again cut green cardstock and patterned Rose Garden paper to matt leaving a small border. This time punch the two right hand corners of the patterned paper with the flower corner punch and edge with Orchid pastel ink. Adhere to the green cardstock and decorate the centre of the punched flowers once again with mini brads before attaching the panel to the front.

5

Stamp the hydrangea image onto white cardstock with Ancient Page Coal Black ink. Colour with watercolour pencils and blend using a damp brush. Add a little shimmer to the leaves by watercolouring with Apple Smooch.

6

Once dry blend pink and lilac shades of fluid chalk cats eye inks around the image leaving a white “highlight” all the way round the flower. Blend darker shades round the edges. Layer onto green textured cardstock and add glitter to the flowers using glitter glue. Set aside to dry.

7

Matt a Rose Garden Tag onto green card and stamp on an appropriate sentiment. Attach to the front of the card as shown and add the main image to the side.

8

Choose a butterfly die cut from the paper pack and decorate the centre with contrasting mini brads. Complete the design by adding to the side of the sentiment using silicone glue.

Hi there! My earliest memory of crafting is sitting with my Nan embroidering when I was tiny. Since then I’ve enjoyed cross-stitch, knitting, & a multitude of paper-crafting techniques. I have been making cards for years but really became hooked when I was introduced to heat embossing. I’ve been addicted to paper, brads, ribbon, stamps, beads, wire…. ever since! I’m really looking forward to meeting you to show you what you can achieve with all the wonderful products available to you!
