Step by Step

1

Trim a piece of brown cardstock to measure 30 x 10 cm and fold to create a card blank. Take a slightly smaller piece of patterned paper and prick a border of holes around the edge, and ink with brown ink. Attach to the card blank. Cut another piece of patterned paper to measure 12 x 7.5cm and again ink and prick the edges, this time joining the holes to create the look of stitching. Mount onto brown cardstock, leaving a small border and attach to the centre of the card using 3D foam pads.

2

Trim a 6.5 x 9cm piece of patterned paper and ink the edges as before. Attach brown cardstock leaving a small border. Attach brown sparkling trim to the panel, fixing the trim underneath for a neat finish. Tie a bow to the centre of the trim, and affix the whole panel to the card as shown using 3D foam pads.

3

Stamp the image onto white cardstock (measuring 6cm square) patterned paper, and brown cardstock using black ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Cut out the santa hat, present and gift tag from the patterned paper, the bow from brown cardstock and attach to the image on white cardstock. Colour in the image using the whispers strokes pens and the watercolour technique, adding concentrated colour to create shading. Edge the cardstock with brown ink and doodle spots using a fine tipped brown pen. Put to one side.

4

Trim a 12 x 6cm piece of brown cardstock and fold as shown. Trim two squares of patterned paper to fit inside the squares as shown and ink the edges with brown ink. On one of the squares, stamp a greeting with brown ink and heat emboss with clear powder. Take two magnetic snaps and stick one to the underside of the brown folded square and one to the inside of the top square, so that they line up. Fix the patterned paper to the brown cardstock, and the stamped panel to the front of the brown card. Fix the panel to the centre of the card as shown.

5

Add glitter flocking to the santa hat as shown using Anita’s 3D clear gloss as adhesive. Finally, write ‘open me’ as shown and embellish with snowflakes.
