DOCRAFTS CREATIVITY MAGAZINE ISSUE 33 MAY/JUN 2012

This issue we feature a delightful collection from Lucy Cromwell by Papermania, off ering all the cups of tea, cake and bunting you will need to set the scene. And just to prove how versatile this range is, you can also find it in our ‘Wedding Special’ feature and used to make a Father’s Day card in our ‘make a Father’s Day card’ challenge! Our ‘Wedding Special’ feature also includes jewellery for the bride and a charming idea to hold onto those precious memories of the big day!

Step by Step

1

Ink the edges of the blue spotty paper from the Born To Shop Nostalgia paper pack as the background for your page.

2

Trim the woodgrain paper from the Woodland Folk paper pack to measure 25cm by 15cm. Ink the edges and glue toward the bottom of the page so that there is an equal border on both sides and at the bottom.

3

Trim a strip of the white spotty paper from the Happy Birthday to You collection to measure 23cm by 4cm. Ink the edges and glue toward the bottom of the woodgrain panel so that there is an equal border on both sides and at the bottom.

4

Trim a strip of red cardstock to measure 23cm by 1cm. Ink the edges and glue just above the spotty panel.

5

Trim a strip of the green dot paper from the Happy Birthday to You collection to measure 23cm by 2.5cm. Ink the edges and glue just above the cardstock panel.

6

Sand the edges of three 6x4 photos and arrange in a row across the page, just overlapping the green strip.

7

Stamp the numbers onto coordinating (I matched mine to the colours of the boats) textured cardstock and cut out. Arrange on the page and secure onto the page with 3D foam pads.

8

Use the Pampered Pets and Birdsong Canvas alphabet to spell out the rest of your title. Add some mini star cardstock stickers (from the Happy Birthday icons sheet).

9

Machine stitch a couple of lines of stitching across the bottom of the page – don’t worry about being neat or straight!

10

Write your journalling onto a strip of kraft cardstock using a white gel pen and glue in place at the bottom of the page.

11

Roughly apply some glue using the glue-pen to the bottom corners of the woodgrain panel. Sprinkle Enchanted Gold embossing powder over but do not heat to keep the sand-like effect.

Scrapbooking satisfies my daily need for a creative outlet, it complements my other loves, photography and my Newfoundland dogs perfectly!
