This issue we feature a delightful collection from Lucy Cromwell by Papermania, off ering all the cups of tea, cake and bunting you will need to set the scene. And just to prove how versatile this range is, you can also find it in our ‘Wedding Special’ feature and used to make a Father’s Day card in our ‘make a Father’s Day card’ challenge! Our ‘Wedding Special’ feature also includes jewellery for the bride and a charming idea to hold onto those precious memories of the big day!

Step by Step

1

Start by covering the top half of the card with Doodlebug asterisk paper from the cheerfully Christmas kit. Cover the bottom half of the card with the green and white pinstripe paper from the same kit. Ink the edges using yellow and red inks from the fluid chalk queue.

2

Cut a square of white card measuring 6.5x7cm and round the corners using the corner rounding punch. Cut a square of red card measuring 6x6.5cm and again round the corners. Mat the red card into the centre of the white card. At this point add doodling around the white border that has been left using green and red pen as shown.

3

Add the Santa image from the cardstock stickers in the cheerfully Christmas kit to the centre of the squares created in step 2 using 3D foam squares. Add green Christmas jewels across the brim of the hat and a felt brad into the end of the hat. Add the words 'Merry Christmas' to the bottom of Santa's beard using the simply sweet rub-ons and two gunmetal adhesive pearls for the eyes.

4

To finish off the square add an eyelet to each corner as shown and add stitching by piercing holes in the square and drawing between them with a brush marker.

5

Before sticking the square to the card, add a strip of Christmas ribbon (the project uses Papermania traditional ribbon, however you could use Doodlebug boutique Christmas trims as an alternative) across where the different papers meet to hide the join. You can also glue small strips of Christmas ribbon to the back of the square you have created so that it pokes out of the right hand side as seen in the picture. Stick the square onto the card at a slight angle again using 3D foam squares to add depth to the card.

6

Finally add green Christmas jewels across the ribbon and add the swirly embellishment from the jolly holly days collection to the bottom right corner of the card to finish.

Hi there! My earliest memory of crafting is sitting with my Nan embroidering when I was tiny. Since then I’ve enjoyed cross-stitch, knitting, & a multitude of paper-crafting techniques. I have been making cards for years but really became hooked when I was introduced to heat embossing. I’ve been addicted to paper, brads, ribbon, stamps, beads, wire…. ever since! I’m really looking forward to meeting you to show you what you can achieve with all the wonderful products available to you!
