Step by Step
1
Cut one sheet of the vellum in half to create an A5 sheet. Fold this sheet in half to create your A6 sized card.
2
On the back of the vellum, measure the card front and draw a line vertically from the half way point, repeat this along the edge of the card so that you have a cross in the centre of the card.
3
Using the starter kit, choose your required border. I decided to use the scallop border. Place the front of your vellum, face down, onto the board and line the edges up with the grid you have drawn.
4
Emboss around the design, lining up each section as you go around to create your oval frame. Erase your pencil lines. Accent this embossed frame by drawing around with the fine tip of a permanent brush marker.
5
On the front of your vellum, use the Christmas tree from your Starry Night template. Draw around the outlines of the tree with a black permanent brush marker. Fill in all the gaps in your outline.
6
Emboss around the tree from the back using the handle of the embossing tool from your kit. This will give you lighter shading. Finish with the finer end.
7
Colour in the tree using your brush markers on the back of the vellum. Add more shading by using the fine end of the brush marker onto the front of the vellum. This helps to give the tree a little bit of depth.
8
Place the card back onto the starter board and pierce your gridwork with the needle tool inside your frame around the tree.
9
Use the swirl from your silent night template to emboss around the outside of your central frame.
10
To finish, add some couture ribbon down the side of your card. I frayed the ends of mine by cutting into the length of the ribbon and pulling it to fray. Add some adhesive stones to the tree. I coloured some of mine with a permanent brush marker to change the colour.
