Step by Step

Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Line a muffin tray with 12 spooky cupcake cases.

Mix the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder, adding the sugar and butter. Mix thoroughly.

Add the vanilla essence and whisk in the egg and milk.

Divide the mixture between the cases and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the top springs up when you press it gently. Allow to cool.

Melt the orange coloured chocolate (mine was orange flavoured too!) in the microwave at 50%power. Heat in 30sec intervals being sure to stir thoroughly (It should only take about 1min).

Spoon over the top of the cake and add some spooky sprinkles while the chocolate while still hot.
