Step by Step

1

Cut a piece of black textured cardstock to cover the front of the card leaving a narrow white edge and attach to the card. Then cut a piece of the Graph, 12X12 Kraft Basics Pack to cover the black card, again leaving a narrow, black edge and secure to the card.

2

Using the Clearsnap Vivid Mini Black Ink Pad, stamp the “5” and the “0” clear stamp onto white card and again onto the Graph card and cut them out. Attach these to the front of the card with foam pads and offsetting them to create a shadow type effect.

3

With the Kuretake Twin No.900 Black Pen and the Papermania Metallic Bullet Pens, write your message on the front of the card followed by relevant equations around the edge. Highlight this writing by outlining your writing with the Papermania Snow White Gel Pen.

4

Punching holes in the card enhances the “school book” feel. I placed silver gems in the holes to create a “ring binder” look.

I never would have believed that when I was 9, cutting shapes out of coloured paper to make Christmas cards, I would be a designer for a Company such as ‘do crafts’. It just proves how popular the craft industry continues to be. It’s the new gadgets; the ever-changing designs & most importantly the creative ideas that have helped keep the industry alive. It’s a real a buzz to be able to show somebody something they’ve never seen before & give them inspiration.
