My Weekend Crafting

Spent a whole week looking for an image for my step Dad's birthday card. Finally found one with the help of 2 docraft crafters. Thanks ladies.

So made his card Friday night and am quite pleased with the result.

Saturday was the big craft day had purchased a template for a cradle from Arty farty in the week and set to work making it. It took me a good 3 hours but finally got it done and for a first attempt was quite pleased with the result. it's quite simple and not too over the top but tht's what the people who will be getting it like.

Sunday had to be housework day and after not getting to bed til 4:30am due to a trip to the emergeny doctor with a sinus infection that was about all I was fit for.

Have a happy crafting week

So another year progresses on. It's freezig outside and we have icy snow on the ground. Still suffering with the sinus infection so am off work which gives me time to go through the gallery and complement everyone on their lovely cards.

Been getting to grips with the cuttlebug and don't tell the other half, have been purchasing a couple of embossing folders in the sales.

The card at the top of this post I made today for my brothers' birthday no embossing on this one but have used it for a couple of baby cards and a thankyou card for my Nan for Christmas presents as I dont get to see her much these days, and I'm sure she will appreciate it. They're in my gallery if you'd like to take a look.

So I'm not sitting idle with my germs, but should really be catching up with the joys of ironing too. Although much prefer to be crafting.

Resolutions for the New Year?..... I haven't made any but if I did I suppose it would be something to do with crafting like erm oh establishing a craft corner with maybe a desk and some storage space. At least then I won't have  to sit on the sofa with a tray on my knee and a small coffee table at my side. Practice my heat embossing, become expert with the bug or maybe just to keep enjoying myself while I'm doing it.

Challenge for the month to find a dinosaur image or stamp that I can use for my Grandsons' 5th birthday at the begining of Feb. Had some good responses from the card making section but not sure if I've found the perfect image yet! Any ideas from any readers of this blog please PM me.

Best wishes to you all for the New Year

Well that's it. The cards are all opened along with the presents, the dinner is eaten did you have pheasant? We've drunk and played games til the moon went away and that's how we celebrated our christmas day.......

Well santa was good to me got a heat tool, lots of card blanks, and some embossing powder, sticky dots and foam pads as well as the usual scarfs, choccies, toiletries drink etc,etc,etc....

Also just before Christmas I invested in a cuttlebug. I've seen on the site so many wonderful cards with die cutting and embossing when my Christmas bonus came through I just had to get one.....Of course I had to trade with my partner for a new widescreen,hd pc monitor but it was worth it. And his screen was a superbly good price.

So I'm hoping that come the new year I will be making some truly inventive and technically more interesting cards.

Oh the festive piccie above is my youngest grandson Riley being Santa, love him.....he's 2 and a half.

Back to work on Tuesday with an 8 o'clock start and next it's new year. This is going to be a quiet event for us with having just spent a great christmas with 4 under fives! Maybe I'll try out my new toys if I can wait til then...

The run up to Christmas

Posted on: 17/12/2009 16:10:41 Quarantine this entry

Well all the last minute running around is now done. Even remembered my daughters dog for a present. The card on this posting is one I made earlier in the week.as I had forgotten someone, fortunately they turned up yesterday with my card so was able to give them theirs without having to post it. I used the same design as I used for my Mums' cards this year as I needed something that was quick, and that I was used to doing and it worked a treat. Think I managed to do it in about 15 mins.

It's a week to go til the big day and I'm really excited about it all as this year we'll be spending it with my grandsons. They' are not too old to have stopped believing in the magic of Christmas yet which when it's at its best cause their eyes light up at the simplest of things.

Got a day off work today so have made the most of it and am catching up on the ironing and household chores I didnt get chance to do last week when I was poorly. Unfortunately I have to work Saturday to make up for it.

Have it on good authority that Santa will be dropping a heattool my way this year. Yipee!!! Been after one for ages. I hope he does as I've just purchased some embossing powders in the artand craft world sale.

So if I dont get the chance to blogg again before the big day everyone have a wonderful Christmas and a properous and peaceful New Year!

About me

I've been cardmaking and scrapbooking for about 4 and half  years now and think I'm quite competent in matting & layering and stamping. I feel I just have to develop my design skils a bit more so this site is really helpful for ideas. Looking for some new things to try at the moment, but haven't decided what to go for. Got into cardmaking while I was ill in 2007 like a lot of people do.
Always been a bit into the crafty stuff with knitting and dress making, but haven't done that for a few years now.

Interests

General theme to my life is DIY. So like to decorate and do home improvements when finances allow. . I like to create, it gives me a feeling of  satisfaction.
Other interests include my other half and my wonderful grandchildren ( see piccie in my gallery).
