Best Wishes Kraft Card

I’m a firm believer that simple and natural can represent both charming and chic, and kraft products are not only very much in fashion, but there is a huge range to play with in the Papermania collections. I just love clean and symmetrical designs and kraft definitely fits the bill when it comes to fulfilling these criteria. The collection is timeless, suits every occasion and co-ordinates beautifully with all colour palettes. I created this layered card simply with kraft materials and Papermania Bare Basics wooden elements, and gave it extra dimension by using plenty of Stick it! 3D Foam Squares or Tape, absolute must-haves! Adding jute string to the card breaks up the lines of the designs, adds a little texture and softens the edges, the neutral tone blending well with any colour palette. Steps: 1. Create a 15.5 x 15.5cm square tent fold card blank from Papermania 12 x 12" Kraft Basics Cardstock. Cut a 14.5 x 14.5cm square panel from a different cardstock style from the same pack, distress the edges with a craft knife or utility scissors and mat the panel to the card blank with plenty of 3D foam tape. Without distressing, mat another layer of cardstock from an 8 x 8" pack to the card front. 2. Cut a panel slightly wider, but shorter, than the card blank, from a different style of kraft cardstock and again distress the edges to give shabby chic look. 3. Wrap jute string around three small wooden bobbins, tie the ends in a knot and trim the ends. Thread the bobbins and two Bare Basics wooden buttons on a length of narrow jute string and wrap the string around the distressed panel, arranging the bobbins and buttons as you go. Secure the ends of the jute string to the sides of the panel with mini wooden pegs. If you want to make sure the pegs don’t move, then adhere them in place with a little hot glue. TOP TIP: Do not secure the bobbins or buttons in place with glue – it makes it more fun if they can move along the string! 4. Add the distressed panel to the card front, using plenty of 3D foam tape, tucking a wooden ruler under the bottom of the panel. Adhere a few wooden mini flags to the card front using permanent adhesive dots, arranging them under the jute string to create a bunting effect. 5. To make the sentiment, attach wooden caption letters to a distressed kraft cardstock panel with hot glue. Attach the sentiment panel to the card front, using 3D foam tape, tucking a second wooden ruler behind the top of the panel. Add a loosely tied jute bow under the top left corner.
