Fussy cut Country Life card

Posted by TheDocraftsTeam, 15 Apr, 2016

If you’re not yet a fussy-cutter, we’ve got the perfect project for you to give it a go. Carefully decoupage and trim around patterns to add depth to a delightful card. Anyone would bee thrilled to receive it!

1. Cover an 8 x 8" card blank with orange cardstock and mat a smaller square of yellow gingham paper on top. 2. Emboss a 5 x 5" square of clear acetate using the Xcut Honeycomb Embossing Folder. Lightly sand the embossed acetate with fine sandpaper and brush with a brown ink pad to add a touch of colour. 3. Use the Just For You Xcut Topper Die to make a sentiment, trimming away the flowers and border. Layer up the acetate and sentiment on a square of orange cardstock. 4. Fussy cut honeycomb paper from the Country Life Ultimate Pack and glue around the topper, overlapping where necessary. Add additional pieces of honeycomb with 3D foam pads for height and dimension. 5. Use the Xcut Everyday Tag Die Set to cut a ‘Smile & bee happy’ tag from orange cardstock. Back with kraft. Fix a length of burlap across the card front, decorating with a burlap bow and a bee charm. Attach the layered tag above the bow with silicone glue. 6. Stamp and fussy cut five bees with black dye ink. Colour in the bodies with a yellow marker. Add the stamped bees to the design, again with silicone glue. Finish the card by adding the surplus hexagons from the tag sentiment to the corner of the card blank.
