Love in Blue

Using the beautiful Parisienne Blue Range, I have created this fresh looking canvas that can be hung on a wall.

  1. Firstly, using the back of the canvas, cover all four sides around the indented part with the paper tape, to make a ‘frame’ for the scene. (this also covers up the staples and edging of canvas that aren’t usually seen!)

  2. Next, cut a piece of blue paper to fit inside the frame. This will need to be stuck down (I used double sided tape) as it will fit up and under the frame but will also need securing down as it tends to move.

  3. Die cut the word LOVE in a lighter paper pattern and stick these letters diagonally across the page as shown.

  4. Place a Bare Basics canvas tag on the bottom left, with some of the crochet trim across it. Now you can Die-cut the flowers using the Madame Payraud vellum. To create layers under the top petal and you can use paper in between the vellum. Here I decided to use several layers of the vellum to give a 3D effect to the flower. I like to think of it as petticoats under a full skirt! On the top right flower turn each layer slightly to give a multi petal effect.

  5. On the centre left of the frame, cut a heart die and pierce three white wired flowers through the holes. Secure with tape on the back and add a ribbon bow.

  6. Die cut the word LOVE in a lighter paper pattern and stick these letters diagonally across the page as shown.

  7. For the top left of the frame, die cut some smaller flowers and embellish the centres with adhesive pearls.
